Jochen Peschel studied electrical engineering with a specialization in communications engineering at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) in Aachen. During his studies, he spent several months in the United States as part of an internship with a manufacturer of wireless technology. He graduated in 2002 with a degree in engineering and then worked at Vodafone D2 GmbH in Düsseldorf in the field of mobile telecommunications.

In 2004 Mr. Peschel started his work in the field of intellectual property law. Mr. Peschel has been a patent attorney and European trademark and design lawyer since 2008. In the same year he started working as a freelancer for the firm. He has been a European Patent Attorney since 2009.

Jochen Peschel has been a partner of the law firm since 2014 and advises domestic and foreign companies of various sizes on all industrial property rights, particularly in grant and legal status proceedings (e.g. opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office and the German Patent and Trademark Office). He also has experience in the field of extrajudicial dispute resolution in the event of infrigement of intellectual property rights . He always advises with a special focus on a holistic view of the property rights strategy.
