Lebenslauf

Johann Bauer studied law at the University of Regensburg, where he did his doctoral thesis in 1994 on German, European and US merger control law. After completing his legal clerkship at the regional court in Regensburg and a six-month internship in a US law firm in San Francisco (California), he completed his legal training in 1993 with the equivalent of a jurist doctor. In the same year he was admitted to the bar.

Dr. Bauer advises and represents domestic and international clients in all questions of intellectual property law. In addition to managing infringement proceedings in patent, trademark and design matters, he also represents clients in proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the European Court of Justice regarding the registration and defense of trademarks and designs.

Another focus of his work is advising industrial companies on research and development cooperation and license agreements.
